    Over 85% of global rare earth separation and refining still happens in China. So even if the gallium is technically in the ore, it's China who captures it during downstream processing, not the miner.


    That’s exactly why a primary gallium project like Nimy’s matters. It offers a shot at sovereign supply, independent of REE chains and Chinese control. If the West wants real strategic metals independence, it needs local sources with local processing—not more upstream exports feeding China’s dominance.
