Trafford Resources has hit 4.8% tin at Zealous in South Australia.
Trafford Resources (ASX: TRF) has intersected 12.3 metres at 1.1% tin from 119 metres, including 1.3 metres at 4.8% tin at its Zealous Tin prospect at Wilcherry Hill in South Australia.
The wide diameter diamond hole was the first of a current 1500 metre drill, designed to intersect the down dip extension of the discovery hole in May 2013 which returned 7 metres at 3.28% tin from 52 metres.
Trafford believes it has discovered a near surface, high grade tin deposit, with four high grade intercepts now defining a strike extent of over 200 metres, to a depth of 100 meters.
Mineralisation remains open in all directions, and with drilling at Zealous returning consistent +1% tin
intersections with widths in excess of 5 metres, a significant ore body appears likely.
Initial mineralogy identified cassiterite as the main tin bearing mineral, which may be concentrated by Gravity Separation.
An additional 1300 metres of reverse circulation drilling commenced yesterday, with results expected by the end of February.
Demand for tin worldwide is growing steadily, however a forecasted decrease in production from alluvial mining and the limited number of new developing mines will likely give tin a bullish supply/demand metric in the near term.
