Hi seaeagle - it is called stock manipulation which can be done legally or illegally and this does happen a lot on penny shares where big money can be made either by suppressing or increasing the share price artificially.
As for the reasons why it may be happening in the case of Triton, it has been discussed many times by a number of posters including me so it not worth going over it again.
