Sri Lanka-focused Bora Bora Resources Ltd has discovered multiple graphite veins while drilling to the north and south of the Kingfisher versatile time domain electromagnetic (VTEM) anomaly at is Matale/Kurunegala project in central Sri Lanka.
The ASX-listed explorer said that diamond drilling at the northern site has so far revealed upwards of nine vein strikes of widths varying from 0.5cm to 1.12 metres in thickness at zone depths of 52-56 metres and 89-102 metres below surface.
Drilling is being conducted by Indodrill under the supervision of SRK Consulting and the Sri Lankan Geological Survey and Mines Bureau is due to begin drilling at the southern end of the anomaly next month.
Bora Bora said that its initial exploration programme was delayed by heavy rains in the project area as well as the need for some unscheduled repairs on the drill rig. The company also said that the softness of the Sri Lankan graphite has required some adjustments in drilling procedures to enable successful core recovery.
