Pretty much on the money and precisely the reason that directors should share the pain - how - by foregoing the proposals for handouts. Tough times for us, should be ditto for them. Shouldn't even be a vote - should simply withdraw.
I once had a boss listening to staff grumblings about how another mob was paying more elsewhere in a not too dissimilar role. A few minutes in, he called out - well, if you lot don't like your pay grade here, you should just apply for the elsewhere positions. Silence within seconds.
Management here (and elsewhere) should also take heed.
