You're cutting a ridiculously large swath by saying all speculative stocks are financially mismanaged. Management of CDT renounced their performance rights because they felt they would be able to attain them too easily.
All speculative mining stocks go up on good news and then start getting sold down whilst waiting for the next piece of good news to launch the SP higher. That's why there are so many traders on them. The risk with this strategy is being out of the market when the next piece of good news lands.
For CDT, news is expected imminently.
