The photo below, of the port of Namibe, (also known as Moçâmedes port)- actually comes from the company's website. The port would of course, be significant for the company - certainly the photo is prominently displayed, on their under construction web site.
Also see, a you tube video, which is several years old - but in English, provides more interesting details and video of Namibe port. NOTE the "bulk" iron ore export operation at the port. More recent you tube videos, are of good quality production - but in Portuguese. Worth investors, checking out everything about the port and the city of Namibe, via you tube though.
Its a deep water port with much spare capacity - and the port authority seem very keen to grow its use (unsurprisingly). This port is a great asset to TYX. As suggested in an earlier post, the port is a massive head start for the company. No lithium company start up, would have anything like this in Australia. No demurrage and room for construction of storage - what a great, valuable luxury they have.
I think from the video - it was even mentioned that main roads lead to the east away from the port. Roads avoid built up parts of the town eg the iron ore exports.... I think from these videos.
Seemingly therefore, given a surface lithium discovery - (turns out the deposit, is only 40 kms from port) - this would be an ultra simple, direct ship rock spodumene, export operation.
------
Fantastic if a world class, high grade lithium deposit, is proven up over time here, at the company's tenements in Angola......but thinking a bit more of the immediate company value -
and the value of just a modest discovery, of higher grade product - at this initial drill site, could see a valuation of billions of dollars. Thanks mainly to the port.
Appreciate how soon a 10 mt spodumene, high grade discovery could be confirmed - some way to go yet, but we have all seen the photos.
Given the situation with access to shipping - some roads - portable crushing plant - 1 million tons DSO would likely not be out of the question. In fact, I suggest such an operation is not difficult to achieve.
Now this is the good bit - sitting down, a 1MT direct ship operation would generate more than one billion dollars PA, pre tax profit for the company. Its not hard to put such a proposal into place, in a relative short period of time, with dozens of Fortune 500 type companies, happy to fund the companies start up....in exchange for offtake.
------------
I think the business model of some start up lithium companies, will consist in the medium term at least - of direct ship operations. Suggested here I think for the first time anywhere - rock spodumene may soon also become referred to as a bulk commodity export product, same as coal and iron ore. (I know concentrate production is highly successful in Aust - but plant construction cost and time ??)
Of important note - Mineral Resoures, PLS Resources and now Core - all started their operations as product DSO. I am sure our company have exactly the same think in mind.
- in closing, I suggest TYX does actually not need a concentrate processing plant or even a proven major deposit - to share price leverage of likely nett $500m annual profits - and therefore a market cap of $3 billion.
