The two biggest things in the Brine vs Hard Rock debate imo are:
1. Lithium is still a by-product of Potash production for Brines. If they flood the market via trying to ramp up lithium production and potash prices collapse it makes their cost of production a lot higher. The higher the average production cost globally of lithium the more we get a floor price and the more large hardrock mines like PLS and KDR will do well on low opex operations.
2. Brines by all accounts are poorer quality products and China prefers hardrock. Add to that Aus hardrock is geographically favourable compared to SA Brines and it just looks good.
I think the GB, KDR, Pilgangoora belt will do amazingly well
