Sorry its a TG6 map in a CHR thread, but the known gold deposits are yellow dots.

Gold is frequently occurring where the greenstone meets the granite, for instance in the areas around Coolgardie and the Goldfields area generally or over to the west to the NW/SE of Southern Cross. The's the huge stretch of Forrestania to the left that has had decades of gold mining. Over to the east there's the Goldfields area with its extremely rich gold mining history. In between these is the Lake Johnston greenstone belt. There's been some exploration but not a lot. The Lake Johnston area has the characteristic of greenstone next to granite that can produce gold deposits but so far few have been found. The lack of historical success is how CHR/TG6 managed to pick up large tenement areas at very modest costs.

Could there be something there - definitely. Is something there - That is unknown.

If a smaller to mid-size gold deposit was found then its probably going to require either constructing a small-scale mill and mining the deposit slowly or transporting material to larger mills that exist in either the Goldfields or Forrestania regions. There's a wildcard around whether the Maggie Hays Nickel plant has conversion potential (and also whether its on the market at a sensible price). Its currently in C&M.
