In my opinion a consolidation will bring greater security to current holders. A consolidation ensures that the next capital raising does occur the company doesn't need to offer a 30% discount on current SP.
A consolidation also resets the charts in the sense that historic trading levels become irrelevant. Until new data forms investors are forced to look at FA to decide weather to invest or not. Later chartist will use the trends for ST and day trading.
Hopefully this is on managements radar.
