Hi John, we have been told to expect a barren cap on this project (because that's what exists in this locality) and to expect something good if hole three reaches full depth - but I am really keen to see assays of those first two holes, particularly hole two, where there was surface gold.

The whole hole intersected matrix supported breccia (with variable amounts of dacite host fragments and exotic clasts), intensely clay altered (can be cut with a knife) and containing fine sulphides (probably a variety of pyrite) in the unoxidised zone. The breccia intersected in this hole is unequivocal evidence of a diatreme, again a feature of high suphidation mineral systems.
The core from hole 17DV2 should delivered to the laboratory by 6th April.

Of course this would not be the mother lode, but if that breccia is mineralised we are right on track.

Good luck to all, and John, I am hoping you are making some progress with the Chillian data sources for your maps. This weekend I will put some pins into Google Earth for those two drill holes. I feel sometimes that the coords on Google Earth are not very accurate, can you comment on that please.
