Seems that way. But they should work for investors. They should have a duty of care. Time the asx set the bar a leetle higher.
Maybe publish a set of criteria for an ann to be price sensitive.
Maybe attach a form to fill in.
Maybe say stuff like..
a) Immediate impact on revenue?
b) Is this special/unique? eg have people been drilling round there for years?
c) Future prognostications backed up by real facts?
d) Pie in the sky estimates disallowed?
e) Update on this has to be by a due date?
f) Past history and timeliness of follow up on anns?? Could be done with some machine learning.
