I'll add to K67's post, in that the key point you've highlighted there is surface pressure. There will be a pressure drop from reservoir to surface in the order of thousands of psi due to the weight of the fluid column (be it drilling fluid or oil). Therefore 10K at surface gives plenty of room to play with.
