GT1 are now working on the open pit having a US$850/t design constraint at Root.
I'm not sure the market has really recognised yet that GT1 was using high pit constraints not because its a high cost operation but because it wanted to report resource that would be mined via UG before the UG development work to report that resource was ready. A US$850/t pit constraint is massively lower than some others are using currently. With the pit constraint being the maximum not average price, average C1 costs should come in lower than this.
