This map from the page 81 of the 17 Oct 2023 MRE to 24.5Mt is important in the context of where the mineral resource update will land very late 2024 or early 2025. GT1 used an impossibly high US$4,000 pit constraint to report as much resource as possible but even doing that the white area at the bottom was excluded.

GT1 has now dialed back to a sensible if not low-end US$850 pit constraint causing the deposit modelling to split into two separate pits. The UG workings shown are most likely the reconversion of the previous open pit constraint MRE to a slightly smaller MRE that is open pit plus UG. GT1 are now expressing confidence they will not only recover the lost material that was caught in open pit modelling but not suitable for UG mining but get into the exploration target range noted in May with Root Bay (excluding east) shifting into the 16-20Mt range.
