Hi Pasboz, yep the Lithium sector is certainly refreshing in comparison to the snail pace of the other stock.
The image above is from PLS's drilling update early February. Within that document it states that the Pilgangoora pegatities are hosted in a series of
'steeply' dipping mafic volcanic rocks. The exploration results, of which there are man bore holes shows the dip ranging from
-58 up to -80; which you can see by the angle of mineralized zones within those images.
In knowing the dip of the mineralized zones and by knowing the inclination of the drill hole they can then work out the thickness of the intersection..
The update today stated a much shallower pegatities dip of about -15...this would suggest that the pegatities are running in a seam near parallel (-15% diagonal ) to the surface , which would mean that the inclination of the bores drilled would be at around the 80 degree mark, hence providing shorter bores to measure the intersection width / depth of the mineralisation zones.
I'd imagine that they set the initial angles up , drilled and realised that they were passing near straight through a mineral vein as opposed to down the vein. It may suggest that the pegatities from PLSs ground are fingering / fanning out ( judging by the steep to shallow angles) from PLS tenement and the resource veins indeed fading out and terminating within DKOs tenement.
Shallow dips (dependent on dept and grade of course) may provide a very profitable mining seam. The buying of early last week where the process ran from 13c to 20c seemed a little early to
be caused by news leaking out from site...but hey, the drilling looks to have concluded alot earlier due to the shallow dip, so news from the site may well have been a catalyst.
The drilling crew would have been provided with the pre planned location of each bore hole; so just because they finished early , wouldn't have meant they could have just gone and drilled where ever else they wanted as they would have required permit. less drilling required for the assay = more cash saved
