122 quid a week in UK at the minute to heat a small well insulated double glazed cottage - thats 250 Aussie - that is one hell of a hit in a weekly budget and that is on pensioner rates Lines failing about every 5 weeks currently as poor maintenance and extra demand . People outside Europe don't understand the cost fo energy and how much is required for heating than for industry that will take decades to change over to electricity as a source of power. Meanwhile China and Asia are rubbing hands together for cheap gas to power industry to make goods for so called " advanced" nations too stupid to use own gas effectively as a transition tool. Australia is full of numbnits with short election cycle timelines and Europe not much better ( but still have nuclear as baseload in may cases)
