Not completely certain what the question is but FWIW:
Cu grades at the Caravel project rarely exceed 0.5% over significant intervals. There are many exceptions to this over shorter intervals especially at Ninan which is, I believe, a different style of mineralisation to Bindi, Dasher etc.
There are some copper prospects that make money mining 0.2%+-Cu as run of the mill ore. Many factors make this possible - easy mining, processing, regulatory issues and good price for copper are among the main ones.
Obviously higher grades are preferable with 0.4-0.6% more the normal range.. At the upper end of the range are the Central African copper belt deposits with Ivanhoe/Zijn's Kamoa-Kakula @ 6+% (initially, and possibly the 2nd largest Cu operation world wide when in production (behind Escondida (Porphyry now ~0.6%?))) .
By products Au, Mo are the most common and can impact economics positively.
The scoping study (6/2016) for the Calingiri project showed positive economics for the 0.15% cut off resource - not certain about this but +-30% is level of "accuracy" for such studies (might be PFS level though).
Drilling since then has shown local higher grades especially at the Bindi hinge zone which could help grade. Not certain if these have been used to update resources yet. Though some may have been used for the 5/19 scoping study (some good comments on the thread for this announcement).
==========
So Ras2 the grades at Calingiri are low/relatively low.
- Some deposits make money at even lower grade.
- Ore sorting is possible but requires expensive testing and significant capex to increase the feed grade. Possible and hopefully will come to pass as it offers many benefits.
- Ninan has interesting gold credits.
- Calingiri has some Mo credit which will help at multi million ton throughput.
- Hope this is of some help. Refine the Q if it doesn't and I may have another go.
- If a mine happens for CVV outside Wongan Hills Calingiri I hope it benefits the locals and the environment.
@CVVD director posted on grades as well.
