I stumbled across a paper titled "Palaeogeographic Mapping and Depositional Trends of the Patchawarra Formation within the Tenappera Region" - it's worth a google. Figure 9.4 on page 92 of the PDF implies that Kinta and Vali are within a channel belt system; with Strathmount/Odin situated in a separate channel belt system.

I've put a really bad overlay (scale might be a bit out) of the most recent prospect map over the top and it clearly shows that Odin, Vali/Vali2 and Kinta are all on trend. I'm curious to see if anything is uncovered in the green starred areas (my addition) over the longer term.

Interesting that the Dullingari wells (middle of pic) are all on trend within a channel belt, but that there also appears to be a 45 degree trend (bottom left to top right). I've overlaid some green lines there to highlight the trend that I think I'm seeing. Correlation or causation? Could probably draw horizontal lines and get the same result...but it's a nice romantic thought when superimposed over the MEL tenements.

    Any thoughts @old geo?
