Sounds like maybe another group may have hurt feelings if they weren't consulted. You're correct that appropriate protocols would have been in place in line with the mining act, so odd that this comes post drilling campaign commencement.
This is where the govt has to have clear guidelines in these matters as to who does have a claim and who doesn't. I've dealt with such issues back in the 90s in WA and it was confusing to say the least and that was with the appropriate "consultants " in place.
We just wait for more clarity. Thomas and the board are decent types that will want to do right by everyone.
If there's one thing that's damn sure it's that covid has put pressure on governments to encourage mining/exploration to make up for lost revenues in other areas.
