    It helps to understand that posts like that "reply" from @Esmer are not actually replies. It's more about the poster positioning your comments and views in a place where they no longer undermine their established opinions. In this case, Esmer assigns to you an ulterior motive that then allows you to be safely ignored.

    How you use your free time is up to you, but I've found that responding to every post I disagree with is a life-diminishing exercise.
