The announcement refers to the significant investment in selecting the best CPP and its benefit in terms of the IND enabling studies and subsequent clinical development. It would appear that PYC is getting good at identifying problems and providing solutions in terms of the relationship between the PMO, the CPP and the target tissue. This is of course good news for a potential cure for retinitis pigmentosa. Undoubtedly it is also good news for many other genetic and rare diseases. A number have already been identified.
The current program is promising and the platform itself is beginning to look quite robust in providing a range of PMO-CPP therapeutic candidates. There is a whole lot of science coming together involving both PYC and its Perth based collaborators.
