It would seem to me that in the current climate where vaccines are being hailed one minute and dismissed the next that any Covid trial which is under 50% complete would be more more difficult to hail as a breakthrough.
Therefore going to at least 60% tested before the trial could be halted for efficacy would seem better for all parties MSB, FDA, and most importantly the sick.
