I've never traded with IBKR before so not sure about that.
As for my account registration with IBKR, it only took few hours.
My DTC was not 'fully' accepted and was told that CBR sent to Computershare but they didn't accept it as my details were not correct. But I never received an email from Computershare so I tried doing the DWAC, which initially got rejected as it said I had no funds.
After I re-lodged, it seems it is working. Not sure yet as I don't have the shares in my account. When you sell in USD, not sure how the funds are withdrawn in AUD. IBKR users might know more.
