Surgical teams selecting the most suitable valve for a patient are more likely to select a valve with a history of successful outcomes accompanied with plenty of data. A new supplier with a superior product will not necessarily enter the market easily. In my own case I was fitted with a Perceval Sutureless (large) valve via surgery SAVR which over 10 years have 20,000 worldwide. While a AVR valve may be superior a lack of historical data could lead to reluctance for rapid adoption.
