Product reps are routinely in theatre supplying and believe it or not advising surgeons/proceduralists with the use of their products. They get paid a fair bit too as it's the relationship and habit that doctors fall victim to that provide the revolving door of revenue for the big prosthetic/device companies. Sewell's comments are founded albeit in cardiology, product reps are seldom present physically, rather just contactable close to 24/7. This is practitioner-dependant though
