There seems to be little discussion of the impact of a falling AUD on DVP. Some recent reports have painted a very bearish outlook for the AUD over the next 5 years, some talking sub USD 0.50 and even one saying USD 0.40 as possible, though I think the latter is too extreme.
If the dollar did fall to USD 0.50 from its current USD 0.66 level and since commodities are traded in USD, then even with no change to commodity prices, the actual AUD return to DVP for exported commodities would be +32% purely due to the exchange rate.
