I think a lot of 'potential' investors and perhaps some already invested do not realise the obvious (at least obvious to me) business and competitive advantages of our upcoming B2B platform. I'll leave this a bit open ended so others can fill in the gaps with their own mental gymnastics but it goes like this...
The industry is in need of consolidation and improvement and is very reluctant to do so. Change has long been a dirty word. It takes years for change to flow through in this industry and innovation is very welcomed by both sides because it flows through to the bottom line- in time and money. The producer and the end consumer... let's take one step back and call it the 'restaurant' for the following example.
What the B2B platform enables (and Dean has been more than vocal about this) is that an end consumer (are you with me... a restaurant or other larger purchaser) is able to pick and choose from a wide variety of wines (all producers on the B2B platform) and have them all delivered in one delivery on ONE invoice.
Simple.
Does that exist currently? NO.
But Dan M... you say. Or perhaps another distributer. Do you know what it takes to get your bottles onto the shelf of a Dan M... store?? It's not easy.
So at the top end of town, a sommelier would have to order individual wines from each winery, resulting in multiple deliveries and invoices that all need reconciling. The B2B platform allows small and large producers to have the same exposure to the end consumer. A sommelier is free to order 2 bottles from Dominic, 4 cases from XXXX and another 6 bottles from YYYY, all delivered- fast and on one invoice.
I won't even get started on the fast delivery which the whole process is screaming for.
... So is this method of purchase attractive the little guy? Hell yes. Dominic wines (as an example) might will start appearing on the wine list of more consumers (restaurants.... you with me still?). It's great for the industry at large and you try and tell me if it doesn't force other producers onto the platform... as a result of FOMO. If they don't join they'll be missing out.
This.... THIS is the big attraction to me.
Patience people, B2B will impress the industry at large from either end of the chain.
