Gee, solid state at 11.3% in full sun. Why is the font green on Commsec? It's usually red...how confusing...

    Immediate reactions are:

    1. de-risks non-glass BIPV based on liquid + quasi-SS dsc. ie. no squishy envelope and attendant leakage and degradation of liquid electrolyte (I/I3+) even though DYE and TATA had made a lot of headway in sealing cells. Printing this onto R2R roofing now an even more viable proposition

    2. TATA is going to have to commit if the details support initial claims despite widespread belief on HC me included that they're holding this back as a bargaining chip on UK electricity prices associated with their steel production (their European CEO has plainly stated he wants an incentive to maintain current UK steel production levels). It's probable this SS-DSC may affect their DYE commitment decision come July. The effect this will have on DYE sp will dwarf todays action if they commit to the program...Jason...or not..what do I know?

    3. full sun is quoted - is this AM1.5? Would like to see more results. Also, is there some new quantum mechanical effect at play? What is the dye? At the moment, I'm happy for them (and me) that they've achieved this milestone. Expect more over the next 10 years.

The fact that DYE have maintained a business model that allows them to commercialise quickly (because that process continues to be a deliberate part of their strategy) means that they can probably adapt, modify and integrate technical details of SS-DSC R2R production into TATA's pilot production plans.

Gee, this might be the start of the middle after what looked like the painful end of the beginning... and for those who have not visualised the possible scale of this venture which got most people on board in the first place, check out TATA's colorcoat blog and imagine all the pretty buildings clad in DSC glass and steel, everywhere, globally...
