First Solar have LCOE (for Utility Scale) on their website as being 7c-15c/KWh. This will be US cents so approx AU 9.8c-21c

Only thing is the chart that shows that has a bunch of data under it relating to 2013 (so could have been equiv AU 9.8c-21c back in 2013 and therefore cheaper now

If the LCOE on the website is current Dyesol at AU 9.8c-12c/KWh definitely wins, but not by as much as you thought. If the First Solar numbers are out of date Dyesol may or may not be cheaper.

However, the key is Dyesols numbers are based on very modest production (a 100MW Facility). The planned Turkey Facility alone was going to ramp up to 600MW (over 5-10 years I think) and as production increases cost of production from scale should come down faster than First Solar, plus Dyesol efficiency is still likely to increase faster than First Solar. So I agree with you very positive sign for DYE, just not as positive as some sources seem to indicate. I find it really hard (even with LCOE) to compare two competing products as different LCOE calculations still include different things and different assumptions. It would not be until 1 source did an LCOE on DYE and First Solar using exactly the same inputs and the same/similar assumptions that we could really get an accurate feel.

I'm kicking myself a bit! I sold almost half my holding at 22c recently. Not casue I no longer believe. I just wanted to put it into EVM for a bit with certain news expected from it (that got delayed) and hopefully will be confirmed on or before next Monday (16th), and I would then want to put the money back into DYE (hopefully after EVM went ballistic and DYE sat still. Well... DYE is up over 50% so the EVM news better come through and it better send it up a lot more than 50%!!! I really want to get back the stock I sold in DYE before the DYE AGM...
