Mike sent pre-stripping plant to site before he was speared - dozer, grader, etc, and they've cleared vegetation & stockpiled topsoil. So they've probably done as much as they can without excacating bedrock.
It probably looks like a minesite in early works. Current management will be doing enough to keep it but not spending much since its pretty obvious Mulga's for sale at the right price.
