Both Sayona and Allkem were based in Brisbane (though I thought most of Allkem's legal team was based in Perth ... could be wrong). The reality is that it is a rather small pool for high flying mining executives. If you want to remain Brissie based you take what is on offer .... and clearly for Lucas Dow and now perhaps for Dylan Roberts Sayona is what was on offer.

Actually even if that explains a lot there is also the fact that high achievers want to work with other high achievers. My guess is that Sayona having attracted Lucas Dow became far more attractive to Dylan Roberts. Sort of like the re-forming of the Blues Brothers.

PS Allkem agreeing to be taken over by Livent was an absolute shocker of a deal for Allkem shareholders but I'm not going to hold DR responsible for that debacle.
