Have you seen a new BYD? You don't realise how good the new Chinese EV's are.
How many car manufacturing plants in the EU, Japan, USA have you visited?
Some car plants that I've visited are by appointment only including EU -Maserati, Porsche, Mercedes, in Japan - Toyota, Mazda, USA Ford in Detroit. The US cars are not the same as quality German or Italian cars. The Chinese also know this and do not try and compete in these vehicles. The Chinese are taking control of the EV market, its a new market and they know that most people want an affordable car.
Admittedly I haven't been to any Chinese EV manufacturing plants, but I've seen some new plants of marine equipment in China and they're first class. You'd be surprised. Also the Chinese are taking over the EV electric aircon compressor market, their factories are state of the art.
True, the standard of Chinese manufacturing has come from zero, but now they're becoming world class. It will only get better, its not that I'm barracking for China its just that I know that China is getting the expertise. I've known this for over the past 20 years, my brother a University lecturer in the USA ( with a PHD Harvard degree) has warned of the Chinese taking the lead as a lot of his best students were from China. He said a lot were hopeless , he also said the top ones were excellent and would take China to a new level.
