OV, I can agree with everything you said, but I can still see holes simply because we just don't know what would happen during and after a complete dive into a racial, all out mayhem scenario.

I really have no worries about GOR if GFI disappeared from the scene. Eleven companies invited, four companies in final bids, so definitely others interested in stepping in. Personally I would hope for Evolution Mining to get involved.

Sure, the government of South Africa would do everything to sustain it's mining clout. But, they just might not be able to. I just hope for the best. A total shut down in and shut off from South Africa would have to send gold through the roof, wouldn't you think? Not the ideal way though.

Here's a tidbit that comes into play that effects GFI as well as other companies in SA. "In March the government will update the 2002 mining charter...to maintain black ownership at 26 per cent. This has been in place since 2002. The problem is blacks have sold, just like anybody else, and will continue to buy and sell just like anybody else. But, the 28% has to still be maintained. "...companies warn they would have to dilute existing shareholders repeatedly...Miners fear...mining rights could be confiscated if they fail to comply." How is a company suppose to know what race a person is that buys shares off of the JSX? Got me.
