Just noticed this on Ikwezi Mining’s quarterly activities report.
Thermal coal marketsThermal coal prices (API4 Richards Bay - FOB Richards Bay for 6,000 kcal, NAR product) gradually decreased during the current quarter from a record high of over USD 200 and closing the quarter at just USD 135. This gradual decrease is expected to continue for the next 12 months with the price expected to be around USD 107 as at December 2022.
Prices seem quite depressed at the at the end of this qtr $USD 135, for 6000 kcal.
Why would Newcastle export price per ton be so much better then then out of South Africa?
