Charac, which is in its fourth year of operation, now claims to be the largest patient relationship management SaaS platform in the UK, with 20 per cent of community pharmacies nationwide now using at least one module from its platform and access to 7.5 million patients.
The UK market has been a difficult nut to crack entering as a relatively unknown brand from the convict colony. With the investment in Charac, could Management (re)approach the UK as they did the US, via an acquisition?
If my bad memory serves me correct they went to the UK before the US and partnered with the Day Lewis Pharmacy chain. Taking a NHS approved (and funded - NHS invested £700k) platform may be something EBOS (Australasia), Guild Group and Cotiviti (US) would support to gain a foothold into a growing patient and pharmacy base.
