That is very interesting and may be a factor which so far has discouraged Hitachi, Mitsubishi and Posco from partnering Kibaran on EcoGraf in Asia Pacific. It's less compelling to have an eco friendly alternative to the Chinese suppliers of sheroidal 99.95 percent pure battery anode graphite if it has to be "coated" by the Chinese prior to being used in Japan or Korea for battery anodes.
