In conjunction with its evaluation of Asia-Pacific plant locations, Kibaran is also considering how it could support Australia’s ambitions to become a regional lithium-ion battery manufacturing centre.
Preliminary discussions have been held with Australia’s largest energy companies, Federal and State Governments on the benefits of the unique high purity battery graphite products. A range of mechanisms have been created by Government to incentivise Australian industry to develop lithium-ion battery capabilities, including the planned creation of WA’s Lithium Valley within the Kwinana Strategic Industrial Area south of Perth and the Future Batteries Co-operative Research
Centre, of which the Company is a founding participant.
