All of the regulatory approvals are in the hands of GR Engineering and its consultants. They are the ones who have completed a review of the purification, shaping, and detailed engineering design.
I have no issues with EGR looking at adding value to a by-product, IMO it is most likely being worked on with Thyssenkrupp for its steel production or POSCO.
A basic calculation of the volume of fines and possible value, Kwinana was expected to have 60% recovery from 40ktpa production. = 16ktpa of fines. 16ktpa at $6k (synthetic graphite sell for upto $20k per tonne) = US$96 mil of additional revenue.
