Exactly right, glad to read some common sense on this misconception. The 'extra-curricular' work is certainly not being done at the expense of the core drive to ready Kwinana for construction. That would be stupid.

All of the pre-construction studies, flowsheet optimisation work and engineering tweaks to accommodate the general green and zero waste approach is being worked through by GR - to inform the final engineering design. As announced, there are a slew of technical documents that are currently being worked on by external consultants for the approval applications to be submitted shortly. All of this this can only proceed so quickly and would not have required all hands on deck, why on earth not work on fleshing out product development in parallel???

As @spid81 alluded to, this greenRECARB could become a major earner for EGR in the future and contribute heavily to the zero-waste goal.

It's baffling how this announcement can be perceived negatively. The next period of Kwinana development will be long and often dull - approvals submission, review period, contracts/FID finalisation, 11 month construction - fortunately the company has the foresight to be pursuing these extra avenues of value now and not merely settling for what is projected to be an already profitable SPG business.
