It is a natural human response to feel hard done by in a situation like this and without all of the information in front of us, speculation on what has happened is a way to cope and justify feelings! Seems like a waste of energy to me when all of the resources I.e. directly asking the managing director, are yet to be exhausted. If you ask and think she's blatantly lying but remain a holder it might be suggested that actually your own market awareness needs refining.
