The issue with ESI is that they are a technology company who thinks they are a resource company. That is also why WEC have been spanking ESI all round the field to this point.
WEC may have inferior technology but they realise they are a technology company - so what do they do they partner up with resource companies and big ones at that.
ESI so far has partnered up with a Vietnamese company - how much coal do they have - zero!
I understand they are endeavoring to partner up in Victoria to gain a resource but anyone notice a third wheel in that relationship.
ESI need to focus on brown coal deposits in ASIAN countries with companies who own the resource. The benefit is two fold - speed of decision making in relation to permission to build infrastructure etc and a ready market through related entities of the venture partner.
Then come back to Victoria with runs on the board and strength in terms of bargaining position.
Australians are notoriously reluctant to spend big on infrastructure for something that is yet to commercially prove itself in the big bad world.
