Last time we had volume day 14 million was Wed 15th after budget confirmation and US tariff confirmation.
5 million of that 10 million drop in short position.
Same again today no doubt. They get out unchallenged.
Apart from their strategies the retail market dynamics have changed. Previously retail would dive into such key progressive announcements of companies. Back in good old COVID days - prior to many interest rate rises - wars which many retail turned to security of fixed term deposit rates. Funds were riding the wave also but more tepid now.
Unchallenged the shorts are. It will turn. Patience and never truer Buffet's comment "focus on what the company is doing".
If the shorts indeed were accumulating as I suspect (no evidence) when ready soon they can turn the sp the other way and make another mega motza. Taking us with them which would be nice for a change.
