Edencrete is basically a fancy brand name for a generic additive.
The strength comes from the CNT. Edencrete is simply a convenient way to add CNT to concrete.
I have university chemistry qualifications. In layman's terms Edencrete is mostly (~98%) water, a tiny amount of CNT and a wetting agent (aka 'detergent') that has been thoroughly mixed. There are obviously a few other 'secret' chemicals to stabilise the mixture. IMO this is fairly basic industrial chemistry not rocket science. A competitor would probably have little difficulty reverse engineering Edencrete by analysing a small sample. [Skilled chemists can relatively easily determine the composition of almost any material.]
The properties and composition of CNT concrete are well known and widely published. There are no secrets. It is pretty much a case of mixing 0.4-1.0%suspended MWCNT with regular concrete. CNT works by preventing the spread of micro-cracks.
The real barriers to the market are getting an adequate supply of low cost CNT for large scale production. MWCNT is still sold by the Kg. It will probably be decades before the multi-thousand tonne quantities need for major infrastructure will be available.
The GDOT has not 'endorsed' Edencrete. They have simply tested and approved a material for Class B (general purpose concrete) use. This is a standard fee for service process.
EDE hasn't been given a cent by Georgia. They will get $26 million in tax credits over 20 years for building a factory. This is another standard deal.
IMO EDE won't get any meaningful contracts with GDOT in the foreseeable future. Generally small companies are excluded from major infrastructure tenders due to the risk of non-completion.
IMO the Solomon's are 5-10 years too early for the market. The 'first mover advantage' is a myth - most of them fail leaving later companies to dominate the market.
Anyone who invested in the EDE float has lost over 90%. Anyone who bought at the peak in 2007 has lost 97%. EDE has a 10 year history of promoting numerous extremely speculative ideas that have eventually failed. Don't take the hype too seriously.
This is not advice. DYOR.
