Fly ash as I understand it,Teddyward,is a by-product of burning coal and there's mountains of the stuff around coal powered energy sites.It's used already to a degree because its very cheap, but too much of it weakens the concrete. The addition of 'Edencrete' in a mix, allows more of it to be used without a weakening effect,thus reducing cost and,indirectly, CO2 emissions. Holcim have now been convinced of this and have acted accordingly.I suspect[hope] a deal[licence,purchase?] will eventually happen.
