The previous quarter they produced 57,000 ounces despite issues with the primary crusher.
I guess this quarter they could have been hanging on to the goal of meeting the lower end of the guidance range and this latest issue has meant they'll miss it. If the miss is anymore than a few thousand ounces I think it is difficult to believe that there isn't a more systemic issue here (and they perhaps were aware of a high probability of missing guidance a few weeks ago).
After the 1Q result I was optimistic that with the crusher fix in place they'd be in the region of 60,000 ounces+ for the June Quarter given the upper end of the rage would have been 68,000. Seems now it is likely to be 45,000 ounces. This is a very large range in one quarter.
Some discussion really is required as to why it is such a large range. If it is an issue of grade surely the guidance would be more precise as the approximate grade would be known? The March quarter mining stats showed a high level of oxide ore being mined.
Seems more likely related to something else given the management changes at the mine site.
