Looting as much as they can before the inevitable demise of the company, likely left with nothing but remaining cash on hand. Hence the board is eventually going to be potentially fired and sent elsewhere.
If they had confidence in the company at this price they would certainly be looking for a purely targets based renumeration or stocks, not extra cash.
What exactly is a salary increase going to do anyway? Pay for fancy microscope to look at P/E ratios closer with?
