The announcement is worded vaguely and at first reading confused me.

WAI previously advised others about the project and as a consequence have a conflict of interest.

Coffey previously advised KfW about the project and as a consequence are ideally placed to take over.

What?

All I can think is that WAI formerly advised another mining co, hence the apparent discrepancy above.

Do you think this all came out at the site visit? I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall.

WAI: "Well it's great to be here at Abu Dabbab again."
GIP: "Again?"
WAI: "Yeah, I was advising Otherminingco back when they wanted to take this project on."
(awkward silence)
GIP: "I need to make a phone call."
