A REFRESHMENT TAKEN FROM ‘KALMINER’ IN 2014
If Northern Star Resources' stable of gold mines were thoroughbreds, the Pegasus deposit would be the bolter.
Hailed as one of Australia's best discoveries in a decade, and named after the winged stallion of Greek mythology, Pegasus was a well-kept secret until Northern Star acquired a 51 per cent interest in 2014.
The balance of the project is held by Anton Billis' Tribune Resources and Rand Mining.
Northern Star bought into Pegasus when it picked up Barrick Gold's Kanowna assets for $75 million.
The project has been put on the fast track and Northern Star revealed the deposit contained 2.1 million tonnes at the staggeringly high grade of 11.4g/t for 763,000 ounces.
While Jundee will become Northern Star's biggest producing asset - for the next three years at least, with 200,000oz per annum forecast - Pegasus will also be jostling for position as the company's star performer.
Mr Beament claims he can see a million-ounce deposit at Pegasus, which is accessible through an underground drive less than 350m from Northern Star's Rubicon mine.
"This resource increase supports our view that Pegasus is one of the best high-grade gold discoveries in Australia in the past 10 years," Mr Beament said."It is every gold miner's ideal scenario - a deposit rapidly approaching one million ounces at a grade of plus 10g/t located immediately next to an existing operation."This gets even better when it is remembered that Pegasus has significant potential for further resource increases."It remains open along strike and at depth and we also have outstanding exploration results up to 8km away on the same structure."
SINCE THEN BB AND ASSOCIATES HAVE DONE THEIR UTMOST TO UNSEAT & UNDERMINE THEIR PARTNERS AND BILLIS PERSONALLY & ON ALL LEVELS AFTER THEIR $150M LOW-BALL OFFER WAS RIGHTLY IGNORED.
