I use a combination of FCharts Pro for scanning etc and https://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/$SPX/interactive-chart
I also use Commsec Iress, so a little all over the shop when charting depending on what I am doing.
A good book for understanding patterns would be Steve Nissan candle sticks.
I have done the course years ago through the Australian Technical Analysis Assoc myself, this was years ago but that is not exactly cheap (worthwhile though).
I am also a member of the ASX Technical Analysis Facebook page (free), you will learn a lot from there on charting especially entries and exits.
